...and that's it. I did no icons this year. None, zip, nada. And no fanart either. I had many ideas for fanart (and vids) and never just got around doing any, but with icons, I think I'm all iconned out. I can still do them on request, but I don't feel the inspiration to just go and make a batch of icons.
But since I did write fic... the writing meme I've done a few times already:
Total number of completed stories:
Twenty-three, plus a chapter of "When the Rest of Heaven Was Blue".
Total word count:
~25 000 - about one third less than last year, because I've been doing mostly short ficlets.
The shortest one was 170 words ("I Want to Believe") and the longest (finished) one was 2200 words ("Red on White").
Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?
More by number, but less by wordcount. I was hoping to write more Buffyverse, but since hardly anyone seems to be reading it anymore (or possibly it's just my fic that no-one's reading anymore), I just don't feel the inspiration to finish anything.
What's your own favorite story of the year?
"All the difference" is one of those fics that I've been working on for years, wanting to make it perfect because I love the idea, but I'm not entirely sure if I managed to do it justice.
Did you take any writing risks this year?
No, not really. I just write whatever ideas come to my head, without thinking what people might think about them.
Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?
Finish "Fathers' Day" and "When the Rest of Heaven Was Blue". And write some femslash, damnit.
(sadly, this was my resolution last year as well... and possibly also the year before that...)
My best story of this year:
DOn't know if it was my best one, but I really liked "Foolproof".
My most popular story of this year:
"The One with the Pony" or "Big Girls Don't Cry" got most comments, but not counting Yuletide, "Red on White" got most kudos. For some reason Jane/Cho always gets a lot of kudos, but not that many comments. I was also surprised how much kudos "All the Queen's Women and All the Queen's Men" got in the end.
Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
I really thought "Wardrobe Malfunction" would get more comments - well, I thought it would get even *one* comment - seeing that it's Avengers verse.
Most fun story to write:
One of the Jane & Lisbon fics, probably. I always have fun writing their banter.
Story with the single sexiest moment:
Errr... I think the closest to sex I had in any of my fics this year was Red John kissing Jane's cheek in "John Doe".
Most "Holy crap, that's wrong, even for you" story:
I was pretty nice this year, didn't even kill that many characters, but "Correspondence with Dead People" was pretty cruel.
Hardest story to write:
"All the Queen's Women and All the Queen's Men". I actually completely rewrote it between the deadline and reveal (as in, it was a five things slash story when I started but it turned into a gen character study)
Again "Wardrobe Malfunction". This is the story that made me wonder if I've completely lost ability to write because I would have expected an Avengers story to get at least one comment on AO3...
